Welcome

Counseling is about people, not problems therefore our time together will focus on uncovering your hidden strengths and inherent resilience to build confidence in moving forward. The key to happiness is not the presence or absence of problems, but rather the harmony within ourselves even during the most turbulent storms. The waves will keep coming because life is just a series of change and uncertainty.

My role is to accompany you in your learning: troubleshooting problems, brainstorming possible next steps and building your confidence to move forward. Let me help you roll with the punches and embrace the current. By focusing on adaptation rather than anticipation, I can help you live in the present rather than being stuck in your past regrets and future worries.

My sessions are dynamic conversations. I ask questions, but I use examples to show how I apply themes. I am direct, but not directive. I make pointed reflections while empowering you to take charge of your own journey. As an abstract critical thinker, I use a systemic approach to contextualise social structural barriers, while looking for transposable themes and clever solutions. My clients love my use of examples, imagery, anecdotes and exercises to turn abstract themes into concrete actions, thereby coalescing theory into practice.

About

I am a registered social worker with the OTSTCFQ. My 6+ years of experience spans across the public, private, and NPO sectors. After completing my BSW at McGill, I started working across the continuum of mental health, from general social services to psychiatry. I have experience in counselling, case management and evaluation/orientation (AAOR), group work, crisis intervention and advocacy.

I support individuals and couples through emotional regulation, self-esteem, and interpersonal issues. I'm particularly passionate about work-related challenges, like burnout, work-life balance, and finding fulfillment in your work. Let me help you thrive in your personal and professional life.

As an Accredited Family Mediator with Engagements, I'm invested in harmonious transitions. I help separating couples divide assets &  parental responsibilities.

Theoretical Approach

I use an eclectic approach, drawing on a mix of humanistic, post-modern and behavioural frameworks. People don't remember what you say, they remember how you made them feel. I carry this Rogerian Person-centred mentality in heart of all my interventions. I revel in Existential Therapy, deconstructing the meaning we attribute to the world in pursuit of happiness and fulfilment. A notable feature is my use of logotherapy. I adopt a Gestaltian posture of observation and experimentation, complimented with concrete interventions from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing.
